SAC students enrolling in law enforcement, firefighting, or in the Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic programs will be able to apply for the scholarships in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.
The new building, part of the Alamo Colleges District’s Capital Improvement campaign, will train students in law enforcement, firefighting, and emergency management/homeland security programs.

In our newest episode of A Seat at the Table, Chancellor Dr. Mike Flores explores the vital work of the First Responders Academy at San Antonio College – a program that trains more than 500 graduates annually for careers in law enforcement, fire science, correctional science, and emergency medical services. He is joined by Chief Manual Casarez of the Boerne Fire Department, Chief of the Balcones Height Police Department, John Jahanara, and First Responders Academy cadet Zaida Huerta.
