Career Readiness & Experiential Learning Services
MISSION
Career Readiness & Experiential Learning Services (CRELS) serves SPC students, alumni, and surrounding community members by providing career readiness education/resources, career-guiding experiential learning programming, and strategies to navigate the hiring process. CRELS does this by providing personalized and holistic career guidance to students, supporting faculty and staff that also provide career guidance to students, collaborating with employer/community partners, and leveraging the use of technology to provide on-demand virtual services.
VISION
SPC alumni will have the highest rate of employment and economic upward mobility than any other college in the nation.
GOALS
- Increase student career readiness through Experiential Learning
- Increase partnerships to provide a diverse internship experience for all SPC students
- Enrich Experiential Learning opportunities through engaging SPC faculty/staff with the AlamoEXPERIENCE Model
Experiential Learning Types
Co-Curricular Learning: Activities related to course curriculum; ex. Public Speakers, Panels
Extra-Curricular: Activities that foster student involvement and strengthen the institution's culture; ex. Clubs, Student Organizations, Interest Groups, Sports
Field Experience: Activities related to career application; ex. Internships, Practicums, Job Shadowing
Service Learning/Community Service: Guided service to the community that is related to instruction; ex. Food Pantry, Habit for Humanity

Connect with employers and peers, complete your profile, and upload your resume to receive career recommendations aligned with your pathway.
Explore free career development resources, recorded workshops, and live webinars focused on job searching and career management.
Students who are still completing the admissions and enrollment process should connect with their assigned Certified Enrollment Coach through Student Onboarding. For assistance, please call (210) 212-5266 and ask to speak with a Certified Enrollment Coach.

- College admissions or enrollment
- Applying to the college
- Class registration or schedule changes
- Academic degree planning
- Initial major selection or basic career exploration
Prospective students, incoming students, and current students seeking assistance with choosing a major, exploring academic programs, or basic career/degree exploration should connect with Student Onboarding or Academic Advising.

CRELS Career Support Services
CRELS supports currently enrolled St. Philip’s College students through scheduled appointments focused on career readiness and professional development services, including:
- Resume reviews
- Cover letter reviews
- Interview preparation
- Job and internship search assistance
- Experience Transcript development and utilization

Career appointment services are primarily based out of the St. Philip’s College Southwest Campus (SWC) in the Industrial Technology Center, Room A135. However, virtual Zoom appointments are also available for students who are unable to travel to SWC for their scheduled appointment. Group and workshop services available at both campuses.
