Advisory RecommendationsTo apply for gift aid, or free aid that you do not have to pay back at the Alamo Colleges District, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year by the posted priority date of May 1st. To further maximize gift aid, students are encouraged to seek out scholarship opportunities, including the Alamo Colleges Foundation Scholarship Application. Gift aid is awarded at the Alamo Colleges District until funding has been exhausted. Students receiving outside gift aid such as external scholarships, tuition exemptions, and/or waivers, should notify the Student Financial Aid Office as soon as possible to discuss any impact to a student's financial aid award. To help prevent any gift aid reductions, students are advised to submit all financial aid requirements requested within the student ACES portal in a timely manner, complete all enrolled courses, and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
