MOSAICO Gala Raises $1.65 Million for AlamoPROMISE
March 27, 2026
The Alamo Colleges District proudly announces its Annual MOSAICO Gala raised $1.65 million for AlamoPROMISE, the district’s largest scholarship initiative that removes financial barriers and broadens access to higher education for students throughout Bexar County.
Held on March 26, 2026, the MOSAICO Gala brought together higher education champions, philanthropic partners, and community leaders in support of the Alamo Colleges District’s moonshot—partnering to end poverty through education and training.
The evening was led by Gala Chairs Alli and Danny Kustoff, and Laura Linhart-Kistner and Kirk Kistner, with support from Honorary Chairs Louise and Mike Beldon, whose leadership and commitment to student success helped make the event possible.
By offering last-dollar scholarships and comprehensive support, AlamoPROMISE helps students graduate, enter in-demand fields, and fuel regional economic growth.
Since its launch in 2019, more than 30,000 AlamoPROMISE Scholars have enrolled at Alamo Colleges District. In Fall 2025, the program served nearly 14,000 students, driving the district’s record enrollment of nearly 90,000 learners.
The program’s effects go beyond the classroom. An economic analysis found AlamoPROMISE has produced over $1.1 billion in economic activity for Bexar County, supporting more than 7,800 jobs from 2019 to 2024.
This year, AlamoPROMISE was nationally recognized as one of 15 programs to receive the National Impact Award from College Promise, highlighting its student success and community impact.
The evening honored Megan Raymond, a Northwest Vista College student and AlamoPROMISE Student of the Month for October, as the 2026 MOSAICO Scholar of the Year. Raymond, graduating this spring with an associate degree, will transfer to UT San Antonio to pursue a career focused on preserving knowledge and serving her community.
“Because of AlamoPROMISE, I have the opportunity to pursue my education and create a future full of promise,” Raymond said. “Your support doesn’t just help students access college—it plants seeds of opportunity for generations.”
Dr. Mike Flores, Alamo Colleges District Chancellor, highlighted the program’s broad impact and the community’s support.
“AlamoPROMISE shows how education transforms not just individuals, but our community’s future,” Flores said. “By removing costs and connecting students to needed support, we advance our moonshot to end poverty through education and training. This recognition and the program’s success reflect the strength of our partnerships and shared commitment to student achievement.”
The event was made possible by donors, sponsors, and partners who drive access to higher education.
“Every dollar raised at MOSAICO invests in a student’s future and our region’s prosperity,” said Barton T. Simpson, Executive Director of the Alamo Colleges Foundation. “We are truly grateful to all who support this mission and make tuition-free college possible for thousands.”
