Alamo Colleges District Nears 100,000 Learners as Fall 2026 Enrollment Reaches Record High

The Alamo Colleges District has reached a new enrollment milestone for Fall 2026, with 98,425 students enrolled across its five colleges as of today putting the District within reach of serving 100,000 learners.

The record-breaking enrollment continues a period of significant growth for the Alamo Colleges District, as more students and families turn to the District for affordable, high-quality education and workforce training.

Enrollment is expected to continue climbing as new learners enroll in additional fall terms, including the District’s eight-week and five-week sessions.

“This record-breaking enrollment is a reflection of the growing number of students who see the Alamo Colleges District as the place to launch their future,” said Dr. Mike Flores, Chancellor of the Alamo Colleges District. “We are opening more doors to higher education, workforce training and economic opportunity, and we are meeting students where they are — whether they are earning college credit while still in high school, beginning college for the first time or returning to continue their education.”

Key Enrollment Growth Highlights

• 98,917 students are currently enrolled across the Alamo Colleges District, an increase of more than 11,000 students compared with Fall 2025.
• Dual credit enrollment has surged to 25,260 students, up from 18,299 students certified last fall — an increase of nearly 38%.
• First-time-in-college enrollment has reached 16,923 students, up from 15,974 last fall, an increase of nearly 6%.
• More than 13,000 AlamoPROMISE students are enrolled this fall, representing the continued growth of the District’s commitment to making college accessible and affordable for local students.
• Enrollment is expected to continue growing as students enroll in later-starting eight-week and five-week fall sessions.

Expanding College Pathways for High School Students

The continued growth in dual credit demonstrates the District’s expanding partnerships with school districts and other education partners throughout the region.

Through dual credit and early college opportunities, high school students can earn college credit while completing their high school education, helping them get a head start on a degree or credential while reducing the time and cost required to complete college.

The District continues to expand opportunities for students through partnerships with school districts, charter schools and private schools, as well as programs designed to connect students directly to college and career pathways.

The Fall 2026 enrollment milestone reflects the District’s continued commitment to expanding access to education and workforce training throughout the greater San Antonio region.

With enrollment approaching 100,000 learners, the Alamo Colleges District is expanding its capacity to serve students and meet the needs of a growing regional economy. Investments in academic programs, workforce training and new facilities are helping prepare the District to serve more learners and connect them with opportunities in high-demand fields.

The District’s enrollment growth also supports its broader goal of helping more students earn credentials, enter the workforce and build a better future for themselves, their families and the community.
