New E-rate for fully-online and out-of-district students

June 13, 2019

In March 2019, the Alamo Colleges District Board of Trustees approved a new E-rate, effective Fall 2019, of $170 per credit hour for in-state students outside of Bexar County taking their classes 100% online.

In mid-July, qualifying students will see their tuition adjusted to the new price, from $215 per credit hour to $170 per credit hour within 24–48 hours of registration. All other fees and special tuition rates will still apply.

While this pricing applies to out-of-district students taking only online classes, the tuition rate for all Bexar County residents remains at $99 per credit hour.

The E-rate does not apply to:

  1. Face-to-face classes
  2. Hybrid (a combination of face-to-face and online) classes
  3. Out-of-state students taking fully-online classes
  4. International students taking fully-online classes

The new E-rate is one more initiative that the Alamo Colleges District is investing in to promote high-quality education at affordable rates, to provide exceptional value to students, and to end poverty in our area through education.
