Kristi Wyatt, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communications, Marketing & Brand Experience

Kristi Wyatt is a nationally recognized communications executive and award-winning strategist who leads one of the largest and most diverse higher education communications portfolios in Texas. She directs the Alamo Colleges District’s strategic communications, marketing, and brand initiatives across a system serving more than 88,000 students and 5,000 employees, setting the vision for the district’s public relations, marketing, and brand strategies to advance its mission of ending poverty through education and training while elevating the student and community experience.

Kristi joined the Alamo Colleges District in 2017 as Associate Vice Chancellor for Communications and Engagement. In September 2025, she assumed her current role as Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communications, Marketing, & Brand Experience.

With nearly 25 years of experience spanning journalism, municipal government, and higher education, Kristi has held leadership roles in two major Texas cities, managing communications strategies and high-stakes crisis responses, including hurricanes, floods, and cyber-attacks. Under her leadership, her teams have earned national recognition for excellence in communications and marketing.

Kristi was named 2025 Public Relations Professional of the Year by PRSA San Antonio and is a graduate of the Aspen Executive Seminar, a program for senior leaders focused on strategic leadership and public impact. She is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America, the San Antonio Chapter of the American Marketing Association, and the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Kristi serves on the Board of Trustees for the University of the Incarnate Word and the Board of the San Antonio Women’s Chamber of Commerce and has previously served as an Honorary Commander with the 502d Air Base Wing and a board member of the Hemisfair Park Redevelopment Corporation. A passionate mentor and advocate for emerging leaders, Kristi champions the development of the next generation of communications professionals and works to ensure that strategic communications remains a driving force in advancing access and student success.
