Students learn about healthcare roles, patient care environments, professionalism, communication, and foundational healthcare concepts aligned with workforce readiness standards.

Earn American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) training while developing emergency response skills used in healthcare settings. Students learn CPR techniques, AED operation, ventilation procedures, and life-saving interventions for medical emergencies in clinical and community environments.
96 Hours
Receive training, skills, and knowledge needed to gain employment as a Patient Care Technician in a hospital setting. Learn to assist patients in the acute care setting with activities of daily living, measuring vital signs, and communicating effectively with patients, family members, and staff.

A preparation for a recognized credentialing exam.

This success course gives adult learners the hands-on practice they need to thrive in a healthcare training program. Guided by Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) principles, participants strengthen reading, writing, math, and digital skills while mastering the fundamentals of bedside care used in long-term care facilities and hospitals.
The curriculum aligns with Texas Workforce Commission Integrated Education and Training (IET) requirements, ensuring that academic instruction, workforce preparation, and occupational training happen side-by-side.
