Employer-Student Connection Employer Information

The Office of Workplace Learning welcomes the opportunity to work with area employers to meet their needs to hire qualified entry-level employees. Benefiting both the employer and the college student, this connection offers employers the opportunity to promote their positions to students who are eager for these opportunities. The National Association of Colleges and Employers outlines several key benefits of hiring college students for entry-level roles, including:

  • Developing a succession planning & talent pipeline to strengthen your future workforce.
  • Attracting hires with high-demand competencies as college student tend to have fresh, relevant skills in technology, team collaboration, and a high willingness to learn.
  • Testing the talent through the internship-to-hire pipeline which allows you to assess talent, leading to higher retention rates.
  • Capturing adaptability and fresh perspectives as younger workers often bring high energy and adaptability to new technologies.
