2027 Online Student Scholarship

Deadline: Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.  |  No written essay required

The School for Online Learning is seeking fully online students to be featured in our Fall 2027 marketing campaign! Your experience matters. Help others take their first step by sharing how you made online learning work for you.

Selected students will receive a $1,000 scholarship upon completing the commitments listed in Round Three.

Who's Eligible for the Scholarship?

To be eligible, students must:

  • Be enrolled in fully online courses at Alamo Colleges in Fall 2026 (no in-person classes)
  • Have a GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Have completed at least 12 credit hours fully online
  • Not be a full-time Alamo Colleges District employee
  • Not be a previous online student ambassador recipient
  • Be able to complete all commitments listed in Round Three if you are selected

Scholarship Application

Round Two: Interview with the Selection Committee

The selection committee will review all applicants’ videos and applications. If chosen for Round Two, you must complete an in-person, get-to-know-you interview.

Round Three: Scholarship Recipients Are Chosen

What's Expected of Scholarship Recipients

After the in-person, get-to-know-you interviews, the selection committee will choose five online students.

If selected, you must complete these commitments in Spring 2027: 

  • Attend two in-person interview sessions at either one of our Alamo Colleges, your home, or your workplace, to include
    • Video interview
    • Photoshoot
    • B-roll filming
    • Scripted video shoot
  • Complete one social media assignment provided by the AlamoONLINE marketing team between January and April 2027
