Your donations will help us work to address digital equity and access initiatives at the Family Service Best Buy Teen Tech Center.

Located in San Antonio's West Side, The Best Buy Teen Tech Center works to engage, teach, and mentor youth to help them grow appropriate social, emotional, and digital skills that help them succeed in school, and help them build skills to assist them in future college, career, and workforce opportunities. Paid summer internship opportunities are also available for youth where they can obtain mentorship from supervisors representing various organizations across San Antonio and exercise the soft skills, they have learned during the school year at their summer employer. Our staff also helps families navigate discounted internet access programs like the Affordable Connectivity Program. Family Service has designated secured space for donated computers and parts for refurbishing. We work with mentors and partners in the community who work alongside our teen tech youth to refurbish the devices for distribution to those in need.  As digital equity is a key social determinant of health, Family Service has incorporated digital access efforts as part of our broader efforts that address social determinants of health through a trauma-informed lens to improve the overall well-being of individuals and families living in Bexar County and South Texas.
