If you have an aptitude for the sciences and are passionate about pursuing a career in healthcare and fitness, the Alamo Colleges created the Health & Biosciences Institute. Within this institute, you can select courses that will prepare you for a career in therapeutic services, diagnostic services, support services, fitness or sports management, and biotechnology research and development. Careers in healthcare are also currently in high demand, with an upward trend of employment opportunities, as people are always in need of skilled nurses, compassionate health care providers, and physical fitness trainers.

If I want an education that prepares me for a career in Health & Biosciences, what online program would I study at the Alamo Colleges?

If you plan on transferring to a 4-year institution, then you can select these programs from a list of nearly a dozen fully online Transfer Advising Guides (TAGs) offered at the Alamo Colleges:

  • Kinesiology at NLC and NVC
  • Kinesiology (with an emphasis in Physical Education) at NLC, NVC, and SPC
  • Sport Management at NVC
  • Exercise and Sports Science at NLC, NVC, and SPC
