If you have a desire to serve the public, Alamo Colleges offers numerous meaningful career paths through the Public Service Institute. Public Service is a broad field that encompasses training and careers in education, government, human services, law, and public safety. Now, more than ever, the world needs people who are dedicated to supporting society in sustainable and impactful ways, whether accomplished individually through roles such as counselors or at the community level through roles such as educator or urban planner. Although many specific public service career paths exist, case management and social work continue to be relevant and stable fields. Now is the ideal time to pursue an online degree in this versatile and meaningful field.

If I want an education that prepares me for a career in Public Service, what online program would I study at the Alamo Colleges?

If serving the community resonates with you and ignites your passion for public service, then you could select:

  • Case Management at SAC
  • Emergency Management Administration and Homeland Security, Fire Science, or Fire Service Leadership degrees at SAC

If you plan on transferring to a 4-year institution, then you can select these programs from a list of fully online Transfer Advising Guides (TAGs) offered at the Alamo Colleges:
