Alamo Adult Education Program
The mission for Alamo Colleges Adult Education and Literacy Program is to serve the needs of the San Antonio community and surrounding area by providing lifelong learning opportunities through training in English, earning a high school equivalency, access to career training and certifications in high-demand occupations, and college training that leads to meaningful employment or an academic degree.
The Alamo Adult Education Initiative provides training and employment assistance to workers and students who require basic skill development in order to succeed in technical training, while
- Earn a certification in a training field of your career pathway
- The curriculum is accelerated so you will complete your certification in 7 months or less.
- Work-based learning/externships & Career services in certain trainings are provide to some of the certification programs
- Our Career Navigators case manage all students enrolled in classes.

HSE information High School Equivalency (GED)
All students of the Adult Education High School Equivalency (GED) program must complete an Interest Form (see link below). Once you have completed the form, the Adult Education staff will follow up with you on your next steps. Follow-ups with include important updates and other information that will assist you in making decisions to pursue your GED and other academic / career goals.

The Adult Education program has several FREE TO YOU class options (AM / PM, face-to-face, or online) to meet your needs, and our team of advisors is here to support you throughout the program.
