Once admitted and after the college has all previous transcripts, you will find your evaluated degree plan in your student ACES account under GPS.

Search "Alamo" to find your college.  You will be required to upload an evaluated degree plan.

Logon to your Army account.  You must have an approved Education Goal to request TA.  TA REQUEST WINDOW is 60-7 days prior to term start date.

Course information including course numbers, term dates and mode of instruction must match the TA document or TA will be rejected by the college.

Secure Your Classes

TA students MUST take action.  You must be fully paid, on a payment plan or on payment deferment to avoid being dropped for non-payment.  See options, below.

Securing Courses & Payment Options

Requesting TA does NOT secure your courses.  TA students MUST take action.  Below are options you may choose to secure your courses:

Payment Deferment (Payment Extension) Request for Pending TA

This is NOT A PAYMENT, it is a request for additional time to pay.  Army TA students may request a Payment Deferment to secure courses through payment deadlines.  TA will be applied to the student account when received from the Army.

Payment Plan Option

Our colleges offer payment plan options to split tuition and fee payments into smaller, more manageable amounts, over a defined schedule.  TA will be applied to the student account when received.  Pay My Tuition (See My Tuition Payment Plan)

GI Billâ„¢ Option

Active Duty members can utilize their GI Bill™ benefits for tuition purposes. Service members must apply directly to VA at VETS.GOV.  We recommend calling the VA prior to using VA benefits at 1-888-442-4551.

Self-Pay Option

As a last resort, all students may opt to pay for their courses through their student account in ACES by credit/debit card or by electronic check.  Those with Financial Aid Awards will have the aid applied to their account balances first before any disbursements (refunds) are processed.  Please check with your college Financial Aid Office if you have questions.  TA received after self-payments, will be applied to the student account and refunded to the student. Pay My Tuition.

Exception to Policy Requests (ETP)

ETP is a temporary measure put in place by the Army after the migration from GoArmyEd to ArmyIgnitED to secure TA funding.

  • Only courses for prior terms which have already finished will be uploaded as ETP.
  • Late enrollments and enrollments for which TA was not required within the TA window will not be supported as an ETP without documentation from an Army Education Counselor of a legitimate issue.
  • Please speak with your Army Education Counselor if you have questions regarding ETP.
  • Please speak with the Military Support Services team if you need to have unreported ETP courses uploaded to the ArmyIgnitED system.
