WHY GLOBAL EXPEDITIONS

Global Expeditions are short-term international programs designed to be accessible, affordable, and transformative.

Unlike traditional study abroad programs, Expeditions focus on intensive, competency-based learning in just one week. This model expands access to global learning for students who may not be able to participate in longer programs.

Students return not only with meaningful international experiences, but with recognized skills and credentials they can share with employers, transfer institutions, and future academic or professional networks.

A GLOBAL COMPETENCE EXPERIENCE

All Global Expeditions are designed first and foremost to build global competence.

Each program includes a thematic focus that reflects the strengths of the destination and the expertise of our international partners. These themes provide context for the experience, but the primary goal remains the same across all expeditions: developing the ability to understand, navigate, and engage in an interconnected world.

All students are welcome to participate in any expedition, regardless of major.

WHAT YOU EARN 

Alamo Global Learner Pathway

Students who complete a Global Expedition earn the Alamo Global Learner Pathway, a set of digital badges that recognize their development of key global competencies.

These credentials are designed to help students demonstrate their global learning in concrete ways and highlight skills that are increasingly valued in today’s workforce.
